Montpelier & Bellows Falls women crowned 2017 Miss Vermont USA and Miss Vermont Teen USA at annual pageants
Vermont Business Magazine Pageant Associates is excited to announce the winners of the 2017 Miss Vermont USA and Miss Vermont Teen USA competitions. After a weekend that showcased the accomplishments and dedication of young women across the state of Vermont, Madison Cota, age 20 of Bellows Falls was crowned Miss Vermont USA 2017 and Kelsey Golonka, age 17 of Montpelier was crowned Miss Vermont Teen USA 2017. Both of these young women will go on to represent the state of Vermont in the next round of competitions for the prestigious, nationally televised Miss USA pageant and the national Miss Teen USA 2017 pageants.
“As a resident of Vermont, I am incredibly honored to represent the pride and glory of our wonderful state as Miss Vermont USA 2017,” said Miss Cota. “Through my participation in the pageants, I am overjoyed at the chance to showcase everything that living in our beautiful state means to me, and I pledge to continue to make Vermont proud.”
Crowned by Neely Fortune, Miss Vermont USA 2016, Madison Cota represented Vermont at the 2017 Miss USA Pageant.

• #15 Erin Connor, age 21 of Bridport
• #23 Joanna Nagle, age 22 of Colchester
• #28 Alyssa Sopenasky, age 25 of Brattleboro

• #15 Erin Connor, age 21 of Bridport
• #23 Joanna Nagle, age 22 of Colchester
• #28 Alyssa Sopenasky, age 25 of Brattleboro
Daniella Doolen, age 20 of White River Junction was voted Miss Congeniality and Joanna Nagle, age 22 of Colchester was named Miss Photogenic.
The 2017 pageants were held in Stowe, VT, November 19-20, 2016. The Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center served as the venue for all pageant activities. Contestants were judged in three equal categories consisting of Personal Interview; Swimsuit for Miss and Active Wear for Teen; and Evening Gown. The competitions shined a spotlight on some of the best, brightest and most accomplished young women throughout the state.
“The pageant brought together a group of amazingly talented, smart, confident, hard-working, kind and young women from every part of Vermont,” said Miss Golonka. “I am extremely proud that I’ve been crowned Miss Vermont Teen USA 2017 and am excited for every step of this amazing journey and year ahead.”
Crowned by Tammy Vujanovic, Miss Vermont Teen USA 2016, Kelsey Golonka represented Vermont at the 2017 Miss Teen USA Pageant.

• Grace Manning, age 17 of Barre
• Bethany Garrow, age 18 of Rutland
• Emma Hoey, age 18 of North Reading

Kelsey was also named Miss Photogenic. Gabrielle Rooks, age 17 of Vernon was voted Miss Congeniality.
Titleholders will travel throughout Vermont making appearances and acting as ambassadors of the state at a variety of charitable events, social functions and more.
