Reigning Miss Universe, Filipino-German Pia Wurtzbach went to visit Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. She represented the Miss Universe Organization for an appearance at Dragon Mart 2 on Friday. Before and after the event, however, she used her free time exploring the city, which she documented on Miss Universe’s official Instagram page.

  1. Pia Wurtzbach went on a surprise desert safari.

A day before her appearance at Dragon Mart 2, the reigning Miss Universe went on desert safari tour in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, donned in an all-black jumpsuit and hijab. Gulf News reported Wurtzbach as saying it was a pleasant surprise to go on a desert safari since her itinerary did not include the activity. She expressed her amazement upon seeing the actual view, and said she has seen it on photos only.

  1. Pia talks about beauty and her advocacy.

Pia Wurtzbach talked to mallgoers at Dragon Mart 2 about beauty, fashion tips, and spreading awareness about sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV and AIDS, which are her advocacies as Miss Universe. She also talked about cyberbullying, body shaming, and how to get over these problems and not be a victim. As reported by Khaleej Times Dubai, Pia told the panel that one can bring awareness to HIV and AIDS by simply talking about it, not for the person’s sake but for the sake of his or her family, friends, and loved ones.
She also indulged her fans’ request to have selfies with her. Wurtzbach encouraged her fans to not give up their dreams, citing her own case, when it took her three attempts before she could represent the Philippines in the global pageant.

  1. Miss Universe fell in love with Dubai.

The reigning Miss Universe wrote in an Instagram post that she considered the Dubai visit one of her favorite trips so far. She also wrote that she wished here friends were there with her so they can go skydiving. In another post, she disclosed that she fell in love with Dubai, citing culture and the smorgasbord of cuisines available in the country.
