Tanzania: Miss Tanzania Gears Up for Miss World Finals


Tanzanians especially those fond of beauty and modelling industry have been urged to support the country's representative in the Miss World beauty pageant, scheduled for December 18th in Washington DC, USA.
The call was made yesterday in Dar es Salaam by the Miss Tanzania Committee, Patron Emmanuel Ole Naiko, who represented the Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Nape Nnauye, in presenting the national flag to Miss Tanzania 2016 Diana Lukumai, in a brief farewell ceremony held at the New Africa Hotel.
Apart from calling for support to Miss Diana, Ole Naiko also commended the Miss Tanzania organisers for conducting the event well despite, facing various challenges.
"We all know what the Miss Tanzania beauty pageant has passed through in recent years, but fortunately the committee has managed to over- come the challenges and conducted the event from grass-root to national level which witnessed a superb final held in Mwanza city on October 30," he said.
On his side, Director of Lino International Agency, the organiser of the local event, Hashim Lundenga, also drummed support to Miss Diana in the world event, asking Tanzanians to cast their votes through the Miss World beauty pageant website.
"As the patron has pointed out earlier, we really had a difficult time to conduct this year's event but thanks to the people of Mwanza and some few sponsors, who decided to supports us and the event was a success," Lundenga said.
Miss Diana, who is due to jet off today for Washington DC promised to do well at the event.
