We are now inching closer to the upcoming Miss Universe 2016 pageant where hopeful candidates from 90 countries vie for the crown. The much-awaited, weeks-long pageant will kick off with all the ladies flying to Boracay.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Miss Universe 2016 pageant itinerary, and where and when you can catch the live telecast and replays of the coronation night, as announced by Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo on Wednesday.

Pageant Itinerary

The 16-day pageant itinerary will begin with all the candidates flying to Boracay on Jan 14. After Boracay, the international beauties will then travel to Vigan for a terno fashion show on Jan. 15, followed by a stopover in Manila and a visit to the oldest city of Cebu on Jan. 16 and 17, respectively. They are also scheduled to go to Baguio on Jan. 18 for a strawberry-picking event and to Davao on Jan. 18. A beachwear photoshoot in Batangas on Jan. 19 will conclude their tour for the entire week.
Also included in the pageant activities is a courtesy call to President Rodrigo Duterte on Jan. 23. According to Teo, other planned events in Albay and Iloilo have been canceled due to the effects of typhoon Nina and schedule conflicts.

Coronation night

The Miss Universe 2016 coronation night will be on a live telecast on ABS-CBN, ETC, GMA 7 and TV 5 on Jan. 30. Meanwhile, the swimsuit and long gown competitions will air via ETC and TV 5 on Jan. 27 and 29, respectively. You can also catch a replay of the pageant night on GMA 7 and ABS-CBN on Feb. 5.
Candidates are expected to arrive in the Philippines beginning Jan 12, while main host, Steve Harvey will arrive on Jan. 22. Tickets for the grand coronation night, to be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, are still available via SM Tickets.
