She jetted off to the US just a month ago to compete in the Miss World 2016 pageant, but even though she didn’t get the crown, there’s no stopping reigning Miss South Africa, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene from doing the most!

The 24-year-old beauty from Mpumalanga this week jets off to Manila in the Philippines to compete in the Miss Universe pageant set to take place there on 30 January.
“I learned a great deal from my participation in Miss World and I am really looking forward to the Miss Universe pageant and to meeting the other contestants from all over the world,” she says in a statement.
The pageant is set to be hosted by comedian Steve Harvey, who found himself in some hot water last year after announcing the wrong candidate as the winner of the pageant and will take place at the Mall of Asia Complex in Manila.
South Africa and Africa has made its mark on the Miss Universe stage with former Miss South Africa, Margaret Gardiner taking the title in 1978 and other African winners include Miss Namibia, Michelle McLean in 1992; Miss Botswana, Mpule Kwelagobe in 1999 and Miss Angola, Leila Lopes in 2011.
Here’s to hoping that Ntandoyenkosi, who will be dressed by designers Quiteria & George, can keep that legacy going!
All the best, Ntando!
