Seat reserved for Duterte at Miss Universe pageant —DOT
The Department of Tourism (DOT) in an inter-agency meeting Wednesday confirmed a seat has been reserved for President Rodrigo Duterte at the Miss Universe 2016 coronation night.
"There will be a seat for the president," Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo confirmed. "He will be seated beside me."

The department in earlier statements has expressed their desire to have the president present at the pageant, going as far as saying that they would love to have him judge the show.
They later clarified that the idea was entirely hypothetical, as the Miss Universe Organization prefer not to have politicians in the panel.
The candidates will still get a chance to meet President Duterte, as a visit to Malacañang has been scheduled on January 23rd.
Preparations are underway for the pageant set to be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on January 30, 2017. —ALG, GMA News
