Dominican Republic bet raising funds online to attend Miss Universe pageant

Sal Garcia, the Dominican Republic candidate for the Miss Universe 2016, posted in her Instagram account her need to help raise funds to attend the pageant to be held in the Philippines this year.
Garcia said some of her sponsors backed out and all government resources have been reallocated to address the massive rain and flooding in the Dominican Republic last year.

The effort to solicit funds from private sector for her has reportedly stopped due to the public bullying Garcia has suffered since she began her reign as Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2016.
