What's the future of the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City?
Miss America was made for Atlantic City.
But relationships do change, and this nearly 100-year bond between the city and the Miss America Organization may be fraying.
For one, the recent return of Miss America to the city was aided by money - the organization is being paid $12.5 million to hold the pageant in Atlantic City through 2019.
It's also based on promises. In return from subsidies it needs to put a show on at Boardwalk Hall, the pageant has promised national exposure, including a New Year's eve concert that failed to materialize.
Broken promises or not, the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority may not be able to offer the same deal even if it wanted to.
And if it doesn't will Miss America walk?
All things we discuss in the this week's Atlantic City Story.
