Philippines Being Eyed To Host Again Miss Universe 2017?

The pageant’s organization is now eyeing the Philippines once again to host the Miss Universe 2017.

MISS UNIVERSE 2017 – The next Miss Universe Pageant might be held again this year in the Philippines.
According to the news report of Rappler, the interview of the ABS-CBN with the secretary of the Department of Tourism Wanda Teo, led to the confirmation that the Miss Universe Organization approached them to host the most prominent beauty pageant once again.
They said that they are still studying about it yet and it was ‘true that they are asking us to host it again this year’.
Based on Teo’s statement, the organizers were happy as to how the country accommodated the said event held last January of this year.
She added, it had even beat out the Super Bowl, one of the biggest sports event in the United States, in popularity.
Referring to the times during the pageant she indicated, “Usually, number one iyan (Super Bowl) pero trending pa rin ang Miss Universe. So they really want it badly here in the Philippines.”
If the Philippines were to host again this year’s pageant, Teo stated that they wanted the DOT to have the control on the event and they are yet going to find sponsors for the cost of the event.
She also said, “Our islands, food, and the biggest smiles of our people are all over the news and social media these past few weeks.”
France’s Iris Mittenaere was the one who got the crown succeeding Philippines’ Pia Wurtzbach during previous Miss Universe pageant held in the Philippines.
The Philippines was able to host the pageant for three years and that was 1974, 1994, and 2017.
The decision about the matter whether the hosting will be accepted or not will be announced for the next few weeks.
For this year, Rachel Peters will represent the country in the most prestigious pageant in the world.
