Reigning Miss Manila before she won last year

It’s the season for Miss Manila once more. And the city-wide beauty pageant traditionally culminates in the selection of a new queen on or around June 24 which happens to be “Araw ng Maynila”. Reigning titleholder Cristelle Tolentino – who won a cool PhP1 Million Pesos for topping last year’s edition – is excited to see which ladies will vie to be her successor. Aside from the big cash prizes (thanks to the Office of Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada), this is a good training ground/source of experience for a national competition. Remember Ganiel Krishnan who landed 2nd Runner-Up and went on to grab the Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International crown and 2nd Runner-Up honors in the international tilt?
