This year’s finalists–Rachelle Hijazi, Francine Nicole Villava, Deanna Lejano, Sherrie de la Cruz, Joan Cuizon, Alexandra Que, Jane Usison, Ma. Krizel Pido, Alyanna Gamboa, Nicole Sobria, Heidi Santos and Juliecar Faith Amian–were presented to the press at a restaurant in the city last Monday night.
Rosalinda ((Ling Ling) Cervantes, consultant of the city’s Museum and Cultural Affairs, said that the Miss Makati pageant aims to encourage women to develop confidence and realize their aspirations.
“It makes women confident as they empower themselves to meet changes and attain significant lives. It encourages women to get out of their comfort zones and engage in changes to be beautiful inside and out,” Cervantes said.
Now on its 28th year, Cervantes said this year’s theme, “Renaissance” symbolizes “the rejuvenation of its classiness.” She added that it reflects “the city’s vitality and ritziness in being the financial center dedicated to its continued success orchestrated by a dynamic spirit of cosmopolitanism.”
The grand finals of the Miss Makati 2017 beauty contest will be held at the Grand Ballroom of Makati Shangri-la Hotel on Friday, June 2, at 7 p.m.
Part of the innovation in this year’s pageant would be the launch of the Miss Makati theme song and the Miss Makati Social Award.
The project is spearheaded by the Makati Cultural Affairs Office.
