Shanaelle Petty from Slavonski Brod was crowned Miss Universe Croatia 2017 in the capital Zagreb on Friday night. She will have the opportunity to represent Croatia at Miss Universe 2017.

Did you know this ? The Miss Universe Croatia Pageant has been held since the year of 1997 in under Vladimir Kraljevic who also successful took the official franchise of Miss Universe Slovenia in 2013.

Shanaelle Petty, who is 185 cm tall, was born in the United States to an American father and Croatian mother. After frequently visiting Croatia, she moved to live in Slavonski Brod a few years ago.

Miss Universe Croatia 2017 loves to cook, play the piano and enjoys playing tennis and volleyball. The beauty speaks fluent English and Spanish, and aspires to work for NASA someday.

She succeeds Miss Universe Croatia 2016, Barbara Filipovic of Zagreb.

First runner-up : Elena Jung from Vodnjan

Second runner-up : Marijana Josipovic of Osijek

All the contestants who competed for the beauty pageant were awarded the scholarship 20,000 Euros for Zagreb School of Economics and Management, and also won several awards.
