Former Miss World Working With Miss Philippines
Miss World 2013, Megan Young, has recently announced that she is ready to help with the Miss World Philippines Organization.
About Megan Young
Young was born in the United States and then moved with her parents to the Philippines went she was 10 years old. She later moved to Manila, Philippines, to pursue her acting career.
Megan Young won Miss World Philippines in 2013 when Quirino was in charge of the organization. She went on to represent the Philippines at Miss World in Bali, Indonesia. She was the first Miss Philippines to win the Miss World title and traveled the world for her year of service. (Read: Pageant Tips for Contestants Traveling Internationally)
Young is going on auditions in the United States but does not feel that her Miss World title will be helpful or advantageous in getting her a job. She says that ultimately agencies hire on what they’re looking for in the model’s appearance.
About Her New Role
The announcement of her involvement comes after a recent change in national directors. Last year, Cory Quirino announced that she would be giving up the Miss World Philippines franchise after holding it for six years. In January, Arnold Verafria announced that he would be taking over the franchise this year.
In a recent interview, Young said that she was ready to help the organization in whatever capacity she is needed. She said that she is excited to help because all of the people who are involved are passionate about the pageant.
She described her role as looking out for the girls’ best interest. While other staff will focus on a great show and great sponsors, Young will focus on getting what the girls need. (Read: Top 5 Miss World Diet Tips)
She’s the best person for the position because she was in their shoes not that long ago. She wants to answer any questions that they may have and act as their voice in the organization.
We’re excited to see how the Miss World Philippines Organization progresses with new leadership and guidance from Megan Young.
