Anna Henry from Portglenone crowned Miss World Northern Ireland 2017

22 yr old engineer student Anna Henry from Portglenone in Co Antrim has been crowned Miss Northern Ireland during an annual gala held at Europa Hotel in Belfast on Monday night. The newly crowned Miss Northern Ireland, Anna, won the contest out of the 24 hopefuls competing to get a chance to represent Northern Ireland in Miss World 2017 contest to be held in China in December.
The runners up were Rachel Jones, 21 from Lisburn, who came second in the contest and Fionnula Mooney, 20 from Ballycastle, who was placed third.
Anna was crowned by 2016 winner Emma Carswell. A final year student at Ulster University, the new queen of Northern Ireland studies renewable Energy Engineering.  She has won medals in Irish dancing competition besides completing various grades in piano and violin.
