The most beautiful girl in the world! Miss World 2016 was crowned at the Sunday, December 18, pageant held at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Over 110 contestants from Albania to Wales fought for the diamond-encrusted crown, but Stephanie Del Valle, who represented Puerto Rico, reigned victorious.
Del Valle, 19, a college student in New York City speaks three languages: Spanish, English and French. With her talents (and now, with her crown), she plans on embarking on an ambitious career path. “I like to have options and I have a solid career plan,” she told Miss World. “I am already registered for a double major at Pace University (law and communications) while pursuing my lifelong inclination to follow a career in entertainment during my spare time. Presently, I am training in all three disciplines hoping that the effort, passion and dedication will direct me to a finer resolution.”
At the pageant, she accepted the coveted crown in a soft pink Swarovski stone–covered Carlos Alberto gown, inspired by the color of Puerto Rico’s national flower, the hibiscus. “Being the ambassador for my country in the Miss World international pageant is an honor and a great responsibility,” Del Valle said in an introductory video. “Representing Puerto Rico fills my heart with pride.”
