Catriona Gray makes first statement after Miss World pageant
Beauty queen Catriona Gray posted a message on her social media accounts Wednesday to let her fans know how she feels about the Miss World 2016 results, giving her first statement after the loss.
"The question most of you are asking is if I'm okay and I can securely say that I am," Gray wrote.
Gray went on to say that her journey had grown from an independent pursuit to one that united people to support a single cause.
"Yes, the crown represented a journey...until I realized that the journey could continue and exist without it," she explained.
Gray encouraged fans to "continue fighting...not for a title but for the betterment of the lives of our countries' children."
On December 18 (December 19 in Manila), Gray represented the Philippines with the hope of becoming the second Filipina to win the Miss World crown.
