Miss America 2017: How to see the pageant live in Atlantic City

Are you one of the Miss America faithful? Want to get a piece of the pageant action in person instead of watching on TV?
Preliminary competition for Miss America 2017 starts on Sept. 6 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The preliminaries continue on Sept. 7 and 8 before the pageant final broadcasts live from the same stage on Sept. 11.
But there are plenty of other ways to see reigning Miss America Betty Cantrell and the Miss America contestants, and some do not involve a ticket price. 
How to see Miss America and contestants in Atlantic City 
  • Want to take in all of the talent routines, evening gowns and onstage questions before the final? Tickets are available for the Miss America preliminary competition, which starts at 7 p.m. on Sept. 6, 7 and 8 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Admission $23 to $53; visit ticketmaster.com
  • The Miss America Show Us Your Shoes Parade, which stars the contestants'decked-out shoes and matching, themed ensembles, will include a tribute to those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. The Atlantic City parade steps off at 5 p.m. on Sept. 10 at New Jersey Avenue and the Boardwalk and will move toward Boardwalk Hall and Albany Avenue. Prime seats range from $35 to $45 but the parade itself is free to the public. Click here to purchase tickets.

  • Tickets for the televised Miss America final (the show airs 9 p.m. Sept. 11 on ABC), which starts 8 p.m. Sept. 11 at Boardwalk Hall, range from $23 to $103; visit ticketmaster.comTicket packages for all three preliminary nights and the final range from $57 to $292.
  • Tickets for the Miss America after-party at WAV nightclub at the Playground Pier in Atlantic City, which runs from 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 to 3 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, are $49.99. See here to buy.
How to see Miss America contestants for free
  • Don't want to pay a dime to see some pageant queens? You can either attend the Show Us Your Shoes Parade on Sept. 10 (see details above) or get a free sneak peek by attending the outdoor Miss America arrival ceremony. The contestants' annual hello to the boardwalk is scheduled for 2 p.m. on August 30 at Kennedy Plaza (on the boardwalk in front of Boardwalk Hall between S. Mississippi and S. Florida avenues) in Atlantic City.
