  • Olivia Jordan says that she feels devastated for Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach who lost her moment because of the debacle
It’s not the first time that Miss USA Olivia Jordan lost a crown to a Filipino; as the Miss Universe Second Runner-up also lost to Megan Young who won Miss World in 2013. Jordan finished inside the top 20 of the said pageant.
The ABS-CBN article reports that Olivia Jordan gained the respect of many Filipinos after she appeared authentically cheerful for Philippines’ candidate Pia Wurtzbach winning the Miss Universe 2015 crown. Many were impressed with how Jordan showed elegance in the face of defeat.
Jordan, a native of Oklahoma, was seen encouraging the obviously bewildered Wurtzbach to take her first walk as the new Miss Universe during the live telecast of the pageant’s coronation night.
What is more extraordinary is that this is the second time that she experienced losing to a candidate from the Philippines. In both cases, a Filipino made historic feats.
Pia Wurtzbach recently ended the Philippines’ title drought in the Miss Universe pageant; winning the crown after 42 long years. Wurtzbach is only the third Philippine candidate to be crowned Miss Universe.
Megan Young, on the other hand, won the Miss World crown for the Philippines for the first time in the history of the pageant.
Back in 2013, Jordan also showed her genuine grace when she congratulated Young despite the loss.
In a photo posted on Instagram with Megan Young, Jordan wrote the following: “Beyond thrilled for the only competitor that could handle the role/title of Miss World Megan Young. You deserve that crown and you wear it beautifully!! Happy to have met you!”
According to BoyAbunda.net, even before the Miss Universe pageant night, Jordan has complimented Wurtzbach; saying the Philippines’ candidate is “flawless.” The article also reports that Jordan and Wurtzbach went to the pre-pageant events together.
In a message to her fans after the Miss Universe pageant, Jordan said she felt distressed for Wurtzbach whose “moment was tainted by controversy.”
