MANILA, Philippines - A 17-year-old Filipino just asked Miss Universe to prom!
On Thursday, reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach had a brief Twitter Q & A where she answered all the questions from her fans via the microblogging site. Jerel Labra, a Filipino who lives in Texas grabbed the opportunity to ask Wurtzbach if she can go with her to prom.
Wearing his heart on his sleeve, he tweeted a 29-second clip, asking the 26-year-old beauty queen if she could be his date.
Labra started the video by introducing himself and congratulating Wurtzbach on her win then he proceeded to his "promposal."
"I may not be as handsome as James Franco or as funny as Seth Rogen, or may be as ripped as Channing Tatum, but I can say this. I am a runner up. This is my question for you. Pia, will you go to prom with me on April 23rd?"
The netizens quickly retweeted the promposal, commending Labra for his "guts."
Meanwhile, Wurtzbach said she really appreciates the sweet gesture and she would love to go if her schedule permits.
