Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach to visit wounded troopers at AFP Medical Center

Forty wounded troopers undergoing recuperation at the AFP Medical Center in V. Luna, Quezon City will get a pleasant surprise as they will be visited by reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach on Wednesday afternoon, January 27.
Col. Noel Detoyato, AFP public affairs office chief, said Pia’s visit at Heroes Ward 3A would start at around 1: 30 p.m.

It will last for 30 minutes.
AFP Medical Center head Col. Joseph Acosta said Pia’s visit was arranged by the Makati Medical Center Foundation after learning of her earlier intentions to visit wounded soldiers there.
Aside from battle casualties, Pia will also get to meet and talk with some HIV patients brought from outside, Acosta said.
This interaction with non-military HIV victims is part of Pia’s advocacy, he said.
He also said the visit of the reigning Ms. Universe was expected to boost the morale of the patients undergoing treatment there.
