Miss Universe finalist left with a black eye and swollen lip after four women savagely beat her in a random attack in a nightclub toilet - just three weeks before she is due to compete in a pageant

  • Elise Chambellant, 20, was attacked at a Brisbane night club on Sunday
  • The beauty pageant finalist tried to stop a fight between several women
  • After diffusing the fight, she said four of the women turned on her
  • Ms Chambellant said she was punched repeatedly in her face and skull
A beauty pageant finalist was savagely attacked at a nightclub bathroom by four women as she tried to split up a fight.
Elise Chambellant was left with bruising all over her body, swollen lips and a black eye after the women pushed her to the ground and punched her repeatedly in the face at a venue in Valley, north-east of Brisbane around 1am on Sunday.
The 20-year-old model, who will compete as a finalist for Queensland in the Miss Universe Australia pageant, said she was not known to the group of women when the violent brawl erupted in the bathroom.
'I stepped in to diffuse it, which worked and they ended up walking away, but as they walked out of the bathroom they continued to scream at me,' Ms Chambellant told Daily Mail Australia.

'A girl just clawed me in the face and when I tried to defend and push her back, they all just launched at me.'
'The first girl punched me about six times in the face and after they belted me in the back of the head,' she said.
Ms Chambellant, who is trained in martial arts, said she fought back and tried to protect her face as she was dragged down to the ground and thrown around by her hair.
She said the attack lasted about a minute before a man intervened and dragged her away from the women and into the men's bathroom.

'It went on for so long I could hear people say "where is security?"' she said.
'If I hadn't been as well trained…those girls would have knocked me unconscious and I don't think we'd be having the conversation.'
'They weren't just trying to push me around, they were trying to injure me badly, very badly.'
Ms Chambellant said she filed a police report and was taken to the emergency room, where she underwent X-rays to her head, neck and chest after doctors suspected she had a fractured skull.

Luckily, she didn't sustain any broken bones but has suffered minor injuries, bold patches after her hair was ripped from her scalp and a mild concussion.
Three days after the attack, the 20-year-old took to social media to talk about the incident and the frequency of such attacks – like the 'coward punch' – which have killed multiple people across the country.
'I did what we are all told to do. I diffused a situation 'walk away' and this is where it has left me. I am disgusted. I am sore. I am angry. Do we not all yet understand that this is how people die?' she wrote on Facebook.
'How many more young lives with huge potential and so many loved ones will be lost to this horrendous behaviour?'
'It has to stop somewhere.'
And despite her injuries, Ms Chambellant said she will still be competing in the pageant.
