Kathleen Crowley, whose two decade television acting career started on the Miss America pageant stage, died at her home Sunday at the age of 87.
A graduate of Egg Harbor City High School in 1946, three years later Crowley won the title of Miss New Jersey and went on to compete in the 1949 Miss America pageant.

Crowley was a finalist, placing sixth, but won "Miss Congeniality" and scholarship to the New York's Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Crowley's acting career began when she appeared in a 1951 production of "A Star Is Born".
After moving to Hollywood, Crowley added several western and horror movies to her credits and appeared on some of the 60's top TV shows, including Batman, Perry Mason, Maverick and Bonanza. 
Crowley's career lasted until 1970, when she met her husband John Rubsam and later returned to New Jersey, settling in Green Bank to raise their son Matthew. 
Visitation will take place Thursday at Wimberg Funeral Home in Egg Harbor City, followed by a Mass at St. Nicholas Church.
