In an interview with the press after the Binibining Pilipinas 2016 Coronation Night the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Medina admitted that it was a surprise to find herself being crowned by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
Medina revealed that she and Wurtzbach have been friends for a while and that this made the "crowning" more surreal.
Kidding aside about needing to eat, Medina assured the press and the public that she will train more.
Medina, 25 years old and a newcomer to Binibining Pilipinas, also won Miss Philippine Airlines. She beat crowd favorites Kylie Verzosa and Nichole Marie Manalo for the chance to represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant. — AT, GMA News
