SIX ‘BINIBINIS’ TO BE CROWNED ON SUNDAY

MISS Universe Pia Wurtzbach will crown her Miss Universe Philippines successor during the much-awaited grand coronation night of the 53rd Binibining Pilipinas at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, April 17 to be aired by ABS-CBN.
Aside from Pia’s lucky successor who will vie for the 65th Miss Universe pageant later this year, five other bright and beautiful ladies will take home titles and the honor of being a crown keeper of the country’s premiere beauty pageant: Bb. Pilipinas-International, Bb. Pilipinas-Intercontinental, Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational, Bb. Pilipinas Globe and Bb. Pilipinas-Grand International.
Pageant Watch has picked nine favorites who have consistently stood out during the preliminary events. They are Nichole Marie Ramos Manalo, 26, an ICU nurse and the youngest sister of Bb. Pilipinas World 2002 Katherine Ann Manalo-Hernandez and Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2009 Bianca Manalo; Kylie Fausto Verzosa, 24, a native of Baguio and Business Management graduate of Ateneo de Manila University whose mom Gemma Raquel Fausto was a Bb. Pilipinas semi-finalist in 1985; Maria Mika Maxine Perez Medina, 25, a model and interior designer who graduated from PSID, De La sale University; Nicole Ignacio Cordoves, 23, an Economic graduate of Ateneo de Manila University and Miss Chinatown Philippines 2014; Maria Sesaldo Gigante, a Philosophy graduate of University of San Carlos in Cebu who aspires to become a pilot; Joanna Louise Deapera Eden, 19, an International Studies sophomore of DLSU who grew up in Sydney, Australia; Anjellica Lopez, 20, a Tourism Management student from Manila who has been a full academic scholar since high school; Maria Lina Neri Prongoso, 23, an accounts payable analyst from Iriga City; and Angelica Recto Alita, 20, a chef from Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.
The grand coronation pageant, to be hosted by Xian Lim and KC Concepcion, is presented by PLDT-DSL, Jag and ABS-CBN.

The country’s sexiest stars and past Superbods winners were witness as the fittest and most gorgeous men and women vied for this year’s top plums a Century Tuna Superbods Nat10n 2016 finals night at Palace Pool Club in Taguig last April 10.
Fil-Swede IT technician Tom Esconde and Fil-Canadian model Olivia Medina were proclaimed as grand winners at the exciting finale of Century Tuna Superbods Nat10n 2016 that saw 13 pairs of finalists battle it out to be called this summer’s Superbod.
Esconde and Media bested the 26 finalists who treked the journey of glamour, style and fitness challenges. Aside from receiving half a million pesos each in cash, the two now join the elite roster of past winners like Manhunt International 2012 June Macasaet, top model and Mr. World Philippines 2013 John Spainhour, Mauro Lumba, Ram Sagad, Asia’s Next Top Model runner-up Monika Sta. Maria, Theresa Fenger and Alaiza Malinao.
Esconde was also adjudged as Most Photogenic, while Medina was Stylish Superbod of the Night.
First runners-up were Clint Bondad and Ambra Gutierrez, who won P250,000 each. Bondad was also named Fittest Individual, Belo Beautiful Skinwinner and Stylish Superbod of the Night.
Second runners-up were athlete Ali Khatibi (whose very supportive wife actress Christine Reyes cheered him throughout the show) and beauty queen Princess Abella, who each took home P100,000. Abella was also voted as Runway Superbod of the Night and Belo beautiful Skin winner.
“Ultimate Superbods” Ann Curtis and Derek Ramsay also graced the event along with past and present Century Tuna endorsers Xiam Lim, Jessy Mendiola, Elmo Magalona, Paolo Avelino, Gerald Anderson, Isabelle Daza, KC Concepcion, Aljur Abrenica, Phil Younghusband and Solenn Heussaff.
The panel of judges was led by no less than the original Century Tuna endorser Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz who, along with Century Pacific Foods general manager Greg Banzon, stylist Liz Uy, basketball superstar Jeron Teng, TV 5 president and CEO Noel Lorrenzana, Cristalle Belo-Henares of Belo Medical Group and PC&V’s Ariel Comia, scored the finalists in swimwear, resort wear and Q & A.
The event was a fitting celebration to mark the 10thanniversary of the biggest, sexiest and most-awaited health and fitness event in the country that began in the summer of 2006.
