MISS USA PAGEANT
Just as Vegas DeLuxepredicted several weeks ago, this morning theMiss Universe Organization confirmed that its 2016 Miss USA Pageant will air on Fox on Sunday, June 5.
Paula Shugart, MUO president, didn’t confirm our Wicked Whisper & Racy Rumor that it will be at Planet Hollywood, but she did reveal that a mysterious 52nd contestant will be added to the competition. It’s a first-of-its-kind nationwide search:
#FindingMiss52 will track down one lucky lady to join the other contestants onstage for the opportunity to become the next Miss USA, then go on to represent America at the Miss Universe Pageant later this year.
Applications for Miss 52 are being accepted as of today for review by a judging panel who will select the Top 10 #FindingMiss52 finalists based on originality/creativity, personality and Internet interview. The public then votes from the Top 10 the winner to compete.
“Miss USA is someone who is strong, determined and confident,” said Paula. “Our competitions celebrate women from all backgrounds, and in finding Miss 52, we hope to inspire more women to step out of their comfort zones and experience the amazing opportunity.”
Here’s how you can be considered as the 52nd contestant: Hopefuls should post three photos or videos on Instagram and Twitter using #FindingMiss52 and explain why they would be the best candidate. Starting May 10, fans vote for their favorite on Twitter and MissUSA.com. 2015 Miss USA Olivia Jordan crowns her successor at the June pageant.
