Katie Blair, Miss Teen USA 2006, says she never saw Donald Trump enter girls dressing room during her pageant: ‘Absolutely not’
A former winner of Donald Trump's Miss Teen USA pageant says she never witnessed the presidential candidate acting lewdly backstage during her time in the beauty contest.
Katie Blair — who was crowned Miss Teen USA in 2006 — defended Trump after multiple other former contestants claimed he walked in on girls changing during a different pageant in 1997.
"As far as the rumors surrounding him coming backstage and things like that, dressing rooms — absolutely not," Blair, 28, said in a video posted by TMZ. "I never experienced that. I don't know anyone that has."
She then contended that if anything like that ever occurred, the women involved were probably "well aware" that Trump was coming back there.
Blair's defense comes a day after four women told Buzzfeed that Trump, 70, entered their dressing room during the 1997 Miss Teen USA pageant and reassured the contestants with something to the effect of "Don't worry, ladies, I've seen it all before."
"I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, 'Oh my god, there's a man in here,'" Mariah Billado, the only one who went on record in the interview, told the website.
A fifth former contestant later told the outlet she remembered Trump in their dressing room as well.
But Blair — who was also named Miss USA California in the Trump-owned pageant in 2011 — says the fast-paced nature of live TV would've made it logistically impossible for the Republican candidate to be moseying backstage during the show.
"He's not putzing around back there while girls are just stark naked," she says in the video. "There's just literally no time, no space."
Blair was involved in a highly publicized scandal in 2006, when she allegedly was caught kissing Miss USA winner Tara Conner at a New York nightclub. Conner, who was 20 at the time, was accused of drinking and using drugs, while the 18-year-old Blair was also accused of drinking underage.
Despite the drama, Trump opted not to strip either woman of their title — a gesture Blair praises him for.
"He stood behind us," she says in the video, before adding, "He still lifted us up, he encouraged us."
Trump has been mired in controversy the past week after a 2005 video that caught him vulgarly describing how he uses his star power to take advantage of women to Billy Bush was published by The Washington Post.
"I gotta use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her,'' Trump says after spotting soap actress Arianne Zucker in the clip. "I'm automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them, it's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab 'em by the p---y."
Trump has since dismissed the boorish banter as "locker room talk."
Blair, however, had nothing but positive things to say about the brazen Republican nominee.
"I never had a bad experience with him and I have great respect for him as a boss, as a businessman," she tells the camera in the clip.
In addition to the crass video, Trump has been accused by multiple women in recent days of making unwanted sexual advances toward them.
He has vehemently denied all claims.
