Former Miss Wisconsin vows to keep fighting for Trump

GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Among the more than 2,900 people at Donald Trump's Green Bay rally Monday night was a former Miss Wisconsin winner from Menasha, who says she is standing by the candidate.
Melissa Young first met Trump in 2005, competing in Trump's Miss USA pageant.
Nine years after meeting him, and before he announced he was running for President, Young received a letter from Trump. It arrived to her in the hospital, not long after she was told she only had 48 hours to live.
“When they opened it, it said to the bravest woman I know, keep fighting and it was a message of encouragement,” said Young.
Young has a terminal illness known as autonomic failure. She says Trump's letter and continued support keeps her fighting.
“This is a man running to be President of the United States, getting ready for debates and he's calling me, speaking with me for 20 minutes plus about how does my son like his school teacher and are the doctors treating me ok,” said Young.
Trump mentioned Young while speaking in Green Bay.
“Stay out of that hospital will you?” Trump said, addressing Young in front of the crowd. “This is an amazing person, an amazing person, an amazing woman. Thank you darling for being here.”
While Young calls Trump an advocate for women, people across the nation, and across the street from his Green Bay rally say otherwise. The criticism of Trump’s attitude toward women has heightened after a 2005 audio recording was released of Trump making lewd comments about women.
“It's really hard to believe that women are supporting him,” said Deanna Bisley of Gresham. “It's very difficult for me to believe they are.”
“How is he going to represent us on the world stage?” said Eric Kuzma of Green Bay. “How is he going to speak with females heads of state when he talks about women in this way?”
“Any of these allegations that have been coming forward, they sadden me really because if something happened to someone, I would never ever want to minimize that, but that is not the Mr. Trump that I know,” said Young.
Young says the Trump she knows is why she plans to support him until she can no longer.
