Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — After her win at Miss Earth pageant, Angelia Ong recalled her experiences throughout her journey in an interview with CNN Philippines.
The 25-year-old Iloilo native said pageant experts took her and her co-candidates to glaciers in Austria to explain climate change.
Aside from glaciers, the candidates also visited zoos, rainforests, and lakes in Austria.
She was crowned as Miss Philippines Earth 2015 on May 31st and among her advocacies include restoration, reforestation, and minimizing carbon footprint through ecotourism.
She described the crowning moment during the Miss Earth 2015 coronation night last December 5 as surreal and thanked her supporters all throughout the pageant.
"I know it's not an easy journey for everyone especially for me but God is really good. He granted our wish. This coming 15 I will be home! I'm so happy to bring home our crown! Where it belongs," she said.
She also revealed that Miss Earth candidates will visit the Philippines next year.
