Caroline Carter crowned Miss New Hampshire 2016
Caroline Carter arrived in Derry, New Hampshire earlier this week as Miss Winnipesaukee. On Saturday night, she left that title behind her when she was crowned Miss New Hampshire 2016, the Miss America Organizationannounced Saturday on Twitter. She will represent New Hampshire later this year at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City.
If Carter wins the Miss America competition, she will become the first contestant from New Hampshire to wear the national crown. Carter may very well get there. She has a history of being who judges look for in areas of community service, talent, good looks and poise. A talented singer, she has been active on behalf of diabetes A diabetic herself, Carter has volunteered to bring awareness of the disease to others. According to her Facebook profile, Carter secondary education-English at the University of New Hampshire. She lives in Dover and works as a hostess for the Cocheco Country Club in Dover.
Carter also has experience as a pageant winner. She was crowned Miss New Hampshire’s Outstanding 2014, which earned her the right to compete at the national Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant. The teen competition is the younger-sister pageant within the Miss America Organization. Contestants are ages 13-17 and, like Miss America hopefuls, compete for college scholarships.
The road to Miss America is to win a local pageant formally affiliated with the national organization. The local winner competes at the state level. If she wins there, she goes on to represent her state at the annual Miss America competition.
