Miss WV crowned

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WDTV)-- Miss West Virginia USA 2016 passed down her crown Sunday.

Your new Miss West Virginia USA is Lauren Roush and the newly crowned Miss West Virginia Teen USA is Olivia Hutchison.

Saturday night girls from across the state competed in the preliminary competition for Miss West Virginia and Miss West Virginia Teen.

On Sunday the girls finished the competition at the Creative Arts Center on WVU's campus.

The girls are judged in three equal categories consisting of personal interviews, evening gown, and swimsuit.

The new winners are offered the chance to travel throughout the state making appearances and over $500,000 in college scholarships and prizes were awarded at the pageant.

Roush will now move on to compete in the nationally televised Miss USA.
