Before they were film and TV stars, Halle Berry and Bethenny Frankel were teenagers vying for the crown in the pageant world.
On Thursday, Frankel shared a throwback photo from her young days in the pageant world alongside Berry, who also vied for the same winning sash.
“Hi @halleberry #missteenlongisland #tbt,” Frankel, 45, captioned an Instagram photo of her standing next to Berry in the Miss Teen Long Island pageant from decades ago.
Although the Real Housewives of New York star has since abandoned her pixie cut that she sported during her beauty pageant days for a longer hairdo, Berry is widely recognized for her short locks.
Before Berry, 51, became a household name, the actress launched her career in front of audiences in the pageant world. At age 18, Berry won the Miss Teen Ohio Pageant, and later that year was named Miss Teen All-American. The Miss Ohio title followed and in 1986, Berry was the first runner-up in the Miss USA pageant. She later went on to become the first African-American to represent the United States in the Miss World pageant.
On Wednesday, the actress sported a crown in an Instagram photo to show her support for the survivors of domestic violence and abuse. Alongside an image of herself wearing an intricate crown, Berry wrote, “My #WCW goes to all my QUEENS who have suffered any form of domestic violence. I think this quote captures it perfectly.”
