PIA WURTZBACH PROMOTES #FILIPINODESIGNERS DURING ‘MISS UNIVERSE’ REIGN

Pia Wurtzbach Promotes #FilipinoDesigners During ‘Miss Universe’ Reign
The highly controversial 2015 “Miss Universe” winner from the Philippines, Pia Wurtzback, is gracing her way as she lives through her 5th month with her prestigious title. Not only has she been actively attending galas and promoting causes, Wurtzbach also reportedly showcases Filipino designers.
In promoting several causes including that of HIV/Aids, the 26-year-old beauty queen made sure that on almost every occasion she attends, she would wear clothes from Filipino designers. GMA Newsreports that her very first event as a correspondent at the annual Super Bowl, she wore a jumpsuit by a Filipino designer, Jot Losa.
The publication revealed that it was the stylish blue halter strap jumpsuit where Wurtzbach kicked off promoting the Filipino fashion through the events and her social media pages. Wurtzbach has since been noticeably using the hashtag #FilipinoDesigners in almost every post on her outfit of the day.
In one post on her Instagram account, Wurtzbach reported for duty at an HIV/Aids gala where she wore an elegant red gown from Monique Lhuillier, a famous world-class Filipino designer. “Designing a world without AIDS gala. Honored to be this year’s Madrina for the Latino Commission on AIDS,” Wurtzbach wrote as a caption before mentioning her beauty team and the Filipino designer of her dress.
“I was so excited to finally do a speech after a long time of training and visits in different organizations on HIV awareness. @cielobenefit #cielobenefit Gown from @moniquelhuillier Make up by @beautywithindaw Hair by @elinhair Styled by @marquis.bias,” she continued.
In fact, CNN Philippines previously reported that the winner of the most recent “Miss Universe” pageant wore Filipino-designed dresses during the pageant itself, when she took the crown in an uneventful way when host Steve Harvey mistakenly announced the wrong candidate as the winner.
Designer Albert Andrada was also the winner that night since his design was featured on the candidate that finally took home the crown while wearing his royal blue, form-fitting gown.
