Bailey Gumm won her second statewide pageant Friday afternoon when she was crowned Miss Nevada 2016 following a pageant held at the Tropicana in Las Vegas. Gumm will represent Nevada at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, scheduled for later this year. The pageant will be aired on the ABC television network.
Gumm is a former Miss Nevada’s Outstanding Teen who represented Nevada in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant. She is a spokesperson for understanding autism. The 20-year-old entered the Miss Nevada Pageant as Miss Plesant Valley. She is a junior at Westminster College. She was graduated from Douglas High School.

If Gumm is crowned Miss America this fall, she will become the third contestant from Nevada to wear the national crown. The first two were Miss America 1949 Jacque Mercer and Miss America 1965 Vonda Kay Van Dyke. The latest to finish in the first five is Miss Nevada 2011 Jennifer Sedler, who was third runner-up at Miss America. Miss Nevada 2010 Kathryn Bulkley finished in the top 10.
