Hayley Barber of Pelham was crowned Miss Alabama 2016 on Saturday night at Samford University's Wright Center.
Barber, 22, was competing in the pageant for the fifth consecutive year. She's a senior marketing major at UAB. She came into the pageant as Miss Shelby County.
"I don't know what I'm feeling," Barber said backstage after being crowned. "I'm dreaming."
First runner-up was Miss Hoover Callie Walker. Second runner-up was Miss Trussville Cassidy Jacks. Third runner-up was Miss Leeds Briana Kinsey. Fourth runner-up was Miss Tuscaloosa Jessica Proctor.
Barber has been taking dance lessons since she was four. For her talent, she did a high-energy tap dance in a flapper dress with white fringe, reminiscent of "The Great Gatsby." The music was "Dibidy Dop."
