Meet the 2016 Miss Texas pageant candidates as competition kicks off near Dallas

The Miss Texas Organization will kick off its annual Miss Texas pageant in North Texas at 7 p.m. Tuesday with the first of its three preliminaries.
Judges will crown a winner on Saturday, July 2, at the Eisemann Center in Richardson.

The winner of the pageant will not only receive a $15,000 scholarship and the use of an Infinity during her reign, but she will also go on to compete against representatives from across the nation in the Miss America pageant which was broadcast live on ABC in 2015.
This year, three of the 56 Miss Texas participants will represent San Antonio — Miss San Antonio, Julia Bush, Miss Bexar County, Lauren DeFillippo and Miss Alamo City, Ashley Sneed.
