Gary Neville questions Chelsea's re-signing of David Luiz with hilarious Miss World comparison
The former Manchester United defender was surprised to see Antonio Conte take the Brazilian back to Stamford Bridge, and made a bizarre analogy
The biggest compliment we can pay Gary Neville's punditry is that it stacks up with his glittering playing career.
However, ahead of Chelsea vs Liverpool, he came up with one of the most bizarre analogies you could ever wish to hear.
Gary Neville, the hard-nosed former Manchester United defender, compared himself to Miss World.
When discussing David Luiz's deadline day return to Chelsea, Neville explained that the move surprised him, due to Blues boss Antonio Conte's reputation for defensive pragmatism, and Luiz's reputation for, well, being a bit clumsy.
"When I think of Antonio Conte's centre-halves from the last few years, they're very solid and know the zonal system," Neville said, with the erudite punditry for which he has become renowned.
"David Luiz is obviously a big talent, but I would have never put those two together. I'm trying to think of an analogy - it's probably like me and Miss World!"
What an image!
Neville will be providing co-commentary on Sky Sports for this evening's clash between Chelsea and Liverpool, which you can follow LIVE on Mirror Football here.
