Beauty may be more than skin deep.
But for some of the top 15 Miss Universe Singapore (MUS) 2016 finalists, it is still about putting their best face forward.
They were one step closer to having a flawless complexion after trying the Indiba Deep Care Proionic System on Tuesday at the Singapore Press Holdings auditorium.
Indiba Asia is one of the official sponsors for MUS 2016.
Headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, it specialises in the design, manufacture and distribution of the latest Proionic System on the market for professionals of aesthetic medicine, plastic surgery, dermatology, sports medicine, physical therapy and beauty.
The Indiba machine uses high frequency currents emitted through a metal massage head to firm up skin and lift contours.
It is even said to break up fat cells, speed up metabolism and drain out toxins.
Tanisha Khan chose to have the machine used on the dark circles under her eyes.
The 18-year-old Temasek Polytechnic business student told The New Paper: "I can (make my body look a certain way) by choosing what I eat and the exercises I do, but I can't train my face (to look perfect)."
After a 30-minute express session, she noticed "improvements" and said the process felt like a "massage".
Tanisha added: "The before-and-after photos I took of my dark circles really showed the difference."
'FOUR EYE-BAGS'
Althea Lew, 25, a marketing manager, joked that she needed to get rid of her "four eye-bags".
"I've tried laser treatment to get rid of pigmentation three years ago.
"(Indiba's treatment) was different (in that it was) comfortable and painless," she told TNP.
"My dark circles did lighten up, and I could see the difference when they finished the treatment on one eye."
Mr Charles Chin, the managing director of Indiba Asia, told TNP: "Indiba is targeting cell therapy which gives bio-stimulation benefits besides microcirculation and hyper-activation effects that promote beauty from within.
"This proven Indiba method gives excellent anti-ageing, lifting, firming, toning, body contouring and hair growth results."
