South Jersey Woman Wins Miss New Jersey Pageant
A Mantua resident took home the crown this weekend in Ocean City.

Ocean City, NJ -- A Gloucester County woman is now in the running to be Miss America.
Brenna Weick, 22, of Mantua, won the Miss New Jersey Pageant in her fourth appearance at the Music Pier in Ocean City on Saturday, the Courier Post reports.
Her platform was Raising Awareness About Cyber Bullying. She entered the pageant as Miss Seashore Line, according to nj.com.
In the talent portion of the competition, she sang “Someone Like You,” from the Jekyll and Hyde musical. She was also Miss New Jersey’s Outstanding Teen in 2009, according to nj.com.
Weick graduated from High Point University, according to 6 ABC.
The Miss America Pageant is set for Sept. 11 in Atlantic City.
Ocean City resident and Miss Cape May County Devon Vanderslice was awarded the inaugural Cara McCollum Memorial Scholarship, according to nj.com.
The scholarship is named for the former Miss New Jersey who died in a car crash in February.
The scholarship was awarded by McCollum’s boyfriend,NBC 10 News Anchor Keith Jones, according to The Press of Atlantic City. The scholarship was awarded following a slideshow presentation in McCollum’s honor, capped by a video of McCollum performing “You’re Sure Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone."
