OCEAN CITY- Brenna Weick, of Mantua, won the coveted title of Miss New Jersey 2016 Saturday night at the Ocean City Music Pier.
This is the fourth year the 22-year-old has competed in the pageant, who held the local title as Miss Seashore Line, and will now advance to the Miss America Pageant held in Atlantic City in September.  For talent, she sang "Someone like you" from the musical Jekyll & Hyde.
Weick was also Miss New Jersey's Outstanding Teen, the little sister pageant to Miss New Jersey, in 2009.
"It'll be exciting to watch her grow and develop and compete in Miss America," Sally Johnston, executive director of Miss New Jersey said. "It'll be a busy summer getting ready."
Johnston, who is also Miss New Jersey's traveling companion, said she's excited to have fun and laugh with her new girl with whom she will travel with across the Garden State.
Weick, a graduate of High Point University in North Carolina, had a support system of about 65 people cheering her on from the audience. Her supporters, with some donning shirts reading "Team Brenna," included family, friends, trainers and even former classmates and teachers.

"I feel like I'm on cloud nine," Weick said after her win. "This is something I've dreamed about for many, many years so it's just a dream come true."
During her year as Miss New Jersey, Weick will be able to promote her platform, A World of Difference-Navigating the Cyber Sphere, to a wider audience and to raise awareness about the dangers of cyber bullying.
"My main goals are to encourage people of all generations to use the internet safely and with integrity," she said. "Not only do I want people to be safe while using social media and the internet, but I want them to hold themselves up to a higher standard and to respect themselves."
"Technology is here for the long haul," she added. "We are an ever-changing society and it's something we need to focus on."
As her year as Miss New Jersey begins the moment the crown is placed on her head, Weick said she wishes to make her fellow contestants proud, to attend every appearance she possibly can and to use social media as a tool to promote her platform.
And of course, she said she wants to represent the great state of New Jersey at Miss America.
Preparation for Miss America will come soon, but the newly-crowned queen said she will indulge in some of her favorite dishes such as ice cream and pasta, as a reward for winning of course.
"I'm not actually Italian," she said. "But the Jersey girl in me loves Italian food."
Carol Taylor, the local director for the Miss Seashore Line pageant, believes Weick is capable of winning Miss America.
"Brenna is the packaged deal," she said. "She's incredible inside and out. She's just so much fun."

Along with the final competition Saturday night, a video slideshow was shown in remembrance of Cara McCollumn, Miss New Jersey 2013, who died in a car crash earlier this year.
"I think for many people it's just still too hard to believe," said Karen Rogers, the meteorologist and traffic anchor for 6abc who hosted the pageant.
In her honor, the Cara McCollum Memorial Scholarship was awarded to one lucky winner who expressed in an essay how she would like to leave her mark on the world. The judge who picked the winner for the scholarship was McCollum's boyfriend, nbc10 news anchor Keith Jones.
The scholarship was awarded to Devon Vanderslice, Miss Cape May County, of Ocean City.
The Miss America Organization is the largest scholarship program for young women in America.
