A new Miss Hawaii was crowned Saturday, Allison Carol Nanea Chu of Kahala, Oahu.
Chu is not to be mistaken for Chelsea Hardin, Miss Hawaii USA.
Chu entered the pageant as Miss Aloha Latina and won the honor at the Hawaii Theatre.
As Miss Hawaii, Chu qualified to compete at the Miss America contest happening in Atlantic City, New Jersey, come September.
Chu says she has a passion for skin care, especially prevention and early detection of skin cancer. Chu is also involved in the performing arts, including opera.
