27 contestants to vie for Miss Virginia crown

Contestants in the Miss Virginia pageant are back in town, and Monday morning we met all 27.

The young women showed off their evening gowns during a photo shoot at the Hotel Roanoke.

They also posed for pictures by the pool.

And the contestants have a busy week ahead.

"This is so much fun. And we always look forward to the girls coming in, and have new ones," said Miss Virginia Executive Producer Bootie Bell Chewning. This year, however, we have 12 that are returning."

The three-day pageant begins this Thursday at the Berglund Center.

The new Miss Virginia will be crowned on Saturday night.
