Natasha Manuella Crowned Miss World Indonesia 2016

Natasha Manuella from Bangka Belitung was crowned as Miss Indonesia 2016 in the scintillating event held on 24^th February 2016 in Jakarta, Indonesia by the outgoing titleholder, Maria Harfanti. At the same event, Editha Aldillasari from Bengkulu was adjudged as first princess while Dian Bernika from Sumatera Utara was titled as second princess. Lampung’s Song Paramadita was announced as third runner up and Kepulauan Riau’s Nabila Astrid was declared fourth runner up.

The grand finale of Miss Indonesia 2016 was broadcast live at RCTI at 9:00 PM as per Indonesia’s standard time.

Gracing the 12th edition of Miss World Indonesia 2016 was the reigning Miss World, Mireia Lalaguna Royo. The newly crowned Miss Indonesia will now represent Indonesia at Miss World 2016. This year 34 delegates competed for the coveted crown of Miss World Indonesia.

The final night of Miss Indonesia 2016 was beautifully hosted by the very distinguished hosts of the coronation eve, Daniel Mananta, Robby Purba, and Amanda Zevannya. Hosting the red carpet ceremony were Maria Rahajeng, Miss Indonesia 2014 and Elizabeth Rahajeng. The grand finale also witnessed the musical performances by Afgan, Ayu Ting Ting, Kunto Aji, Yura Yunita and Woro.

Amidst the coronation eve, many special awards were also allocated to the contestants amongst which were:

Fast-track beauty for a purpose: Bengkulu – Editha Aldillasari

Fast-track challenge competition: Jambi – Nita Naomi

Fastrack Catwalk: Miss Bali – Sukma Astiti

Fastrack social media: Miss Sumatera Utara – Dian Bernika

Fastrack nature and beauty fashion: Miss Lampung – Kidung Paramadita

Peraih fastrack sport: Miss DKI Jakarta- Yusraine Assipalma

Miss Social Inspiration: Kalimantan Timur – Tasya Yaumil

Miss Photogenic: Miss Bengkulu – Editha Aldillasari

Miss online: Miss Sumatera Barat – Annisa Savira

Miss lifestyle: Miss DKI Jakarta – Yusraine Assipalma

Miss persahabatan: Miss Papua- Petrichsia

Miss terfavorit (hasil voting): Kalimantan Tengah – Ellen Gracia

The stage was beautifully designed for the coronation eve, and the show began with the cultural dancing number, akin to the “Dances of the World” of Miss World. As the competition commenced, the contestants were trimmed into semi-finalists and finalists.

9. Sulut

The top 15 semifinalists of Miss Indonesia 2016 got a question from the jury consisting of Liliana Tanoesoedibjo, Wulan Tilaar, Noor Sabah Nael Traavik, Ferry Salim and Peter F. Saerang. While comprising the Top 5 finalist spot after qualifying the question and answer round and evening gown round were:

1. Bengkulu- Editha Aldillasari
2. Sumatera Utara- Dian Bernika
3. Lampung- Song Paramadita
4. Babel- Natasha Mannuela
5. Kepulauan Riau- Nabila Astrid

The chairwoman of the Miss Indonesia organization, Liliana Tanoesoedibjo revealed that the organization was looking for a woman who has the complete package to bring Indonesia’s first Miss World crown home, and the newly crowned beauty queen certainly fits their bill.

Indonesia has been placing at Miss World since five consecutive years and has been winning many fastrack events at the same. The highest placement of Indonesia was in 2015 when Maria Harfanti became the second runner up to the Spain’s first Miss World, Mireia Lalaguna Royo.
