Not only has former Miss Corpus Christi Latina Caitlin Cifuentes been forced to give up her crown, but as of Wednesday, she has also had to give up her job.
The recently dethroned beauty queen appeared in court Wednesday for a probation review, where her probation officer told the judge she might have violated the court's expectations, according to reports.
Some terms of Cifuentes' probation include not consuming alcohol or visiting or working at a bar, according to KZTV. After appearing in court, Cifuentes posted on her Facebook page, "I am now jobless effective immediately!!!! I have worked at Murdocks for four-and-a-half years!" Murdocks is a bar in Corpus Christi.
According to Nueces County court documents, the 25-year-old former beauty queen is on deferred adjudicated probation for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and probation for a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated.
Cifuentes' title was stripped last week after a lawsuit was filed by six Miss Corpus Christi Latina contestants claiming Cifuentes should have been disqualified from competing because of her criminal record and previous marriage.
The contestants are seeking $100,000 from pageant director Kayla Alvarez, who they say allowed Cifuentes to compete, according to the lawsuit.
The national organization's president and founder Acirema Alayeto said Caitlin Cifuentes is no longer recognized as the winner of the June 11 contest and her application will not be honored for the national pageant.
"Cifuentes does not have the proper credentials to hold such a title," Alayeto said in a news release.
