Steve Harvey’s Show With Dissed Miss Universe Scores Ratings Record
NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution
Monday’s episode of the syndicated talker Steve Harvey focused on the host’s gaffe at the Miss Universe pageant last month, and it’s clear that the public remains interested. “Miss Universe: The Truth, Part I” drew a 2.6 rating in metered markets, hitting a high-water mark for the 4-year-old series. It was No. 1 in several major markets including NYC, Chicago and Atlanta.
The program featured Harvey talking with Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines, about his embarrassing mistake in announcing the wrong winner of the pageant on live TV. Part 2 airs today and features the first conversation between Harvey and Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, the contestant he incorrectly named as the winner but who actually was first runner-up.
Here’s a clip of Harvey’s sit-down with Gutierrez, which he tweeted today. Dig her comedy joke about Oprah Winfrey’s “You get a car!” episode:
Steve Harvey is produced by Endemol Shine North America and distributed in national syndication by NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution.
