Pia Wurtzbach on being ‘reyna ng mga bakla’: ‘Pak na pak!’

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach supports gender equality and is grateful to her fans in the Filipino LGBT community.

She expressed this sentiment in a more humorous and cheerful way at her homecoming special at Araneta Coliseum on Thursday evening. When asked how she feels about being "Reyna ng mga Bakla," the queen of the universe replied, "Pak na pak!"

In fact, the reigning Miss Universe said that she will continue to support the cause even after she has passed the crown on to the next titleholder.

Pia expressed her gratitude to Filipinos in the LGBT community for being among the biggest supporters of beauty pageants.

In an earlier interview, the Filipina beauty queen said that as Miss Universe, she represents everyone—men, women, and “everything in between.”

"I believe in gender equality. I represent men, women, and everyone in between. I don’t consider myself as being leaning more towards women. I think there should be equality for everybody, for all genders,” she said.
