WATCH: Pia Wurtzbach is correspondent for Inside Edition’s Super Bowl special

Pia Wurtzbach has confirmed she will be Inside Edition’s special correspondent for the much-awaited Super Bowl 50.

She personally revealed this piece of news in the media conference during her courtesy visit in Malacañang on January 26, 2016.

According to the Miss Universe 2015 title holder, she was just waiting for Inside Edition to break the news.

“I see it as a compliment. They wouldn’t trust me with a microphone if they don’t think I can do well,” Wurtzbach said.

The beauty queen made the same announcement via Instagram when she posted  a photo of her holding an Inside Edition microphone with a caption: “I am so excited to announce that I’ll be @insideedition’s special correspondent at this year’s Super Bowl!”

Wurtzbach will be covering the night’s events with exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes previews, and game coverage with Inside Edition correspondent Megan Alexander.

According to Inside Edition’s Executive Producer Charles Lachman, Pia is naturally fitted for the role. ”She has the on-air poise that we look for in our talent, and as reigning Miss Universe, she’s no stranger to a thrilling competition.”
