Pia Wurtzbach and President Aquino meet in Malacañang
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach on Tuesday morning paid a courtesy call on President Benigno Aquino III in Malacañang.
Wurtzbach arrived with her mother, Cheryl, and Binibining Pilipinas chairperson Stella Araneta around 10 a.m. and went straight to the President's Hall.
The beauty queen, wearing a white and pink Albert Andrada Filipiniana, was also welcomed by some government personnel who had gathered outside the Palace.
A press briefing with Malacañang reporters is scheduled after the courtesy call.
Wurtzbach and Aquino were previously rumored to have gone out on a group date, but the beauty queen recently explained that though she went out with the bachelor President in a “few social occasions,” it wasn’t a date.
In an earlier interview, Aquino, 55 said she’s happy for Wurtzbach’s achievement.
"Siyempre, natuwa tayong lahat na nanalo siya...Iyong point na pinaghirapan naman niya talaga itong pagkapanalo niya,” Aquino had said. — AT, GMA News
