Ja makes Top 12 of Ms Supranational Pageant
REGINA Harding, Jamaica’s representative to the 2015 Miss Supranational competition, finished in 12th position at the grand coronation in Poland, last Friday.
Now in its seventh year, the pageant — which had contestants from 82 countries — focuses on natural beauty, grace, glamour and fashion.
Harding explained her reasons for entering the competition.
“I decided to enter Miss Supranational because it was the opportunity to become the first Jamaican to place or win the pageant. We have done well at Miss World and Miss Universe,” she told the Jamaica Observer.
For the evening gown segment, she wore an Uzuri-designed red ensemble.
The 23-year-old — who is from Montego Bay in St James — finished in the Top 10 of the Miss Jamaica World pageant last year.
Asked whether she planned to enter any more pageants, Harding said she hasn’t ruled it out.
“I love to set records and we have never won the Miss Universe crown. I would love to be the first Jamaican to take that crown home. So my mind is open and I will not rule out representing my country again. I have the international experience now. So I am ready,” she said.
Miss Supranational 2015 is Ms Paraguay, Stephania Vasquez Stegman.
