The hunky model was voted off the island after being pitted against his other half Zara – although let's face it, there weren't exactly sparks between the two islanders.
Speaking to the Daily Star Online following his island exit, Daniel said: "The truth is that I didn't fancy Zara at all. The first time I recoupled with her, I genuinely wanted to get to know her. I tried to get to know her, but she's just really… I don't want to talk about her as a person, that's for the viewers to figure out what kind of person she is. She's just not the right person for me.
"We're two very different people. She's only 20, and for a 20-year-old, she hasn't figured out a lot of things yet. I had to grow up quickly as I became financially independent, my parents really struggled with the economic crisis, so I had to figure things out for myself quite early. So a lot of people see me as a bit of an old man."
"It's very high pressure, everyone is concerned about who is coming, going, winning, losing. You don't really get the opportunity to build that rapport with people because they're so conscious of what's going on. "
The one lady Dan did fancy was blonde nurse Rachel, but bro code got in the way of his dream villa romance.
The 23-year-old said: "When I found out Rykard had slept with Olivia after he spent the night in the pod with Rachel, it upset me a little bit. The reason why I'm sat in a hotel now away from the island is because I was being loyal to Rykard, and I coupled up with Zara who I didn't have a couple's connection with.
"I knew recoupling with her would mean I'd be leaving the island, but I was happy to do it. In the real world, I'd never get in the way of a friend getting with a girl."
