After assuming her reign last weekend, the new beauty queen of Texas hosted a celebratory feast that was no-frills, but 100 percent authentic to the Lone Star State and San Antonio — at Whataburger. 
Miss Texas United States Alayah Benavidez, a 20-year-old San Antonio resident, took the title on May 29 at the pageant in Richardson. She will go on to compete at Miss United States on Aug. 5 in Las Vegas, but before she starts prepping her bikini body for the main stage, she threw down at the Whataburger on 5900 U.S. 281 Access Road in her tiara and sash. What-a-woman. 
"Because does it really get any more Texan than this,"she captioned an indulgent Instagram photo of herself, four burgers bundled in their golden wrappers and a mountain of fries and onion rings on Wednesday. 
Benavidez's previous pageant wins, including Miss San Antonio Texas Teen USA 2013, Greater Helotes Texas MS 2015 and Miss San Antonio United States 2016, proves she knows how to balance pageant-prep nutrition with her down-home cravings.
